  • With the last round of updates I've lost the ability to import pictures from my iPhone into Lightroom. I'm sure there is some setting to fix this. I never use Apple's Photos program. I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 9.1 I'm using Lightroom CC with Camera Raw 9.2 My Mac Laptop is running.

Feb 25, 2019 Lightroom CC supports live photos, could you please let us know in which file format are they appearing in the application? Mar 22, 2011 Just be aware that is not a difference between Apple Photos and Lightroom CC. If you have Photo Library enabled, you already are using cloud storage with photos and their edits synced to all your Apple devices (Mac, iPhone, iPad.). Both Apple and LRCC use the cloud as the definitive repository of your complete photo library; all your devices are merely client end points that do not need to store every photo because they are all in the cloud.

Hi, i have recently got an iPhone that supports live photos and am trying to find the easiest way to get them onto my desktop machine running lightroom classic.
It appears that Lightroom CC on iOS only imports the photo element of the live photo, I have tested with 'high efficiency' and 'most compatible' in the iOS settings. In Lightroom settings on the phone, auto-add from camera roll and importing of videos is enabled, and indeed videos import fine from my phone to lightroom classic, but not live photos.
Any advice on the easiest way to get the live photos onto my desktop?

There's a feature that got kinda lost in all the new stuff released at the recent Adobe MAX Conference, and one was the fact that Lightroom CC (the cloud-storage-based version of Lightroom) has a new built-in migration tool to help you move from using Apple's 'Photos' app over to Lightroom CC. Before you do the Migration, Adobe recommends a few things to make sure the process works smoothly, and that you get your originals from Apple's Cloud over into Adobe Cloud.

STEP ONE: First, Open Apple Photos on your Mac Desktop, and press Command-, to bring up Photos Preferences window (seen above). Click the General icon up top. The 'Use as System Photo Library' should be grayed out, but if it's not, go ahead and click it now.

STEP TWO: Next, click on the iCloud icon up top; make sure ‘iCloud Photo Library' is checked at the top, and then click on 'Download Originals to this Mac' (it will pull down the originals stored in Apple's Cloud so you can migrate them to Adobe's cloud in Lightroom CC>

Moving those photos into the 'final' folders (will involve renaming the Apple photos) trying a year with more photos. Similar Posts: Apple Photos to Lightroom Classic CC: Step 2 en (2018) Back to Lightroom en (2018) Getting Your iCloud Photostream to Play Nice With Lightroom en (2012).

STEP THREE: Macbook remote desktop app. In Lightroom CC, go under the File menu and choose ‘Migrate Apple Photos Library' as shown here.

STEP FOUR: You'll see a warning that migrating this library is a one-time thing and that the only thing it's going to migrate is those original images you just asked to be pulled down from Apple's cloud.

That's pretty much it — hit continue and ‘The Migrator' will do it's thing, moving your originals to Lightroom CC's Adobe Cloud storage. Can you get apple music on xbox.

Hope you found that helpful. 🙂
